Materials Needed

Ready-made fondant

Scissors

Knife

Professional gel colouring-colour of choice

Sheet protector

Toothpick

Getting Started

Firstly you should use your scissors to cut off the edges of the sheet protector, so that it opens like a book. Put aside.

Secondly, using the toothpick add your desired colour to the ready-made fondant. Gradually knead in the colour into the fondant until well incorporated.

Thirdly, roll out the fondant lengthways (app. 3/8 thick)

Getting Started cont’d

Using the knife cut four pieces as precisely as you can.

Roll three pieces into a ball and the fourth should be rolled lengthways.

Place them apart in the sheet protector.

Using your thump, try to flatten the top of each piece of fondant as thin as you can, ensuring that the bottom remains thick.

Pick up the long piece and beginning from a corner and ending at the next. Gradually roll it inwards, forming in a curving motion. This would form the inside of the rose.

Then pick up one of the circular piece, placing it face side directly at the side of the previously rolled piece. Close it in.

Repeat with the other two pieces, ensure that each petal touches each other. Close them in.

Your rose is complete.
